We had been playing with VFX for a while, using it for personal projects but our first at scale project came with a request from a property developer:

Create previews of existing and not yet-existing buildings before/after revamp to convince investors it was worth it.

So we jumped in and decided to fully build it in 3D.

This was our very first at scale 3D project, and what came out was three schools built with 3D, and showreels of each of the 19 rooms with a mix of 3D images and videos.

 

This showreel is a month of exploration, improving our skills and investigating the potential of 2 different software tools used in the world of computer graphics and game development : Blender and Unreal Engine.

Blender a versatile 3D modeling and animation software. It empowers us to bring imaginative concepts to life.

On the other hand, Unreal Engine is a powerful tool for designing and building interactive experiences. We can utilize it to create incorporate special effects into photoshoots.

In summary, Blender and Unreal Engine are useful tools for us in creating captivating visual stories.

And of course there are many more equivalent softwares to use such as : Houdini.

 

Today we use it on a regular basis on every sort of projects, when reality shows its limitations.

Like we did for the Yashi campaign and completely reconstructed the packshot.

Or for a Cristel campaign we had pushed the limits of gravity a little too far.
